LINIAN: A Family Business
LINIAN is a proud family business established in 2006 by Jean and Wes Arbuckle. Initially, it was a Mechanical & Engineering wholesale business for 35 years. Following Wes’s invention of the fire-rated single-component cable clip, in 2015, their children Lynne Jhangeer and Ian Arbuckle MIET have since joined the business. Lynne is currently Chief Operations Officer and Ian is LINIAN’s CEO. They focus their efforts on developing the LINIAN brand along with the product range further.
Wes Arbuckle has created a proprietary product that has never existed before – a single-component fire-rated cable clip made of metal that does not require additional plastic elements (screws, washers) to be installed. LINIAN clips are a sustainable and BS7671-compliant alternative to cleats, saddle clips nail-in, and P-clips. Time trials show that time spent on cable installation using LINIAN clip is up to 72% shorter compared with traditional installation methods. Sustainability
LINIAN is promoting sustainability standards by making a shift to 100% sustainable packaging, using the UK supply chain and a local manufacturing facility.
In 2022 LINIAN received an Award for the Best Sustainable Packaging Project by the Made in Britain.
Additionally, LINIAN clips and other products are designed to remove plastic from the environment as they do not require plastic plugs, screws or washers to be installed. If the project/site/building is refurbished, LINIAN clips would be reused instead of going to the landfill like most other cable fixings.
